Our city
Friedland is a small town in the district Mecklenburgische Seenplatte, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, north – east of Germany. It is situated about 22 km from the district seat Neubrandenburg. It was founded in 1244 and has about 6 679 inhabitants.

Our school
The "neue friedländer gesamtschule" is a full-time comprehensive school including secondary education and grammar school which are administrated independently. Furthermore, it is the only school in the area of Mecklenburg- Strelitz that offers its students the chance to achieve all of the three possible degrees (lower and upper secondary school certificate and A-levels) at one school. The school is located in a rural region between Berlin and the Baltic Sea.
Its 750 students are taught by 60 teachers. With a wide range of educational offering and the use of modern pedagogical conceptions individual development of knowledge and skills is promoted.
From 5th grade on all students learn English as their first foreign language and they can choose between Russian, French and Spanish as their second foreign language later on.
For years students of the "nfg" successfully compete in local and national competitions based on several subjects, for instance art, maths, physics and information technology.
