Our city
​

Toulouse is a town situated in the south of France on the river Garonne. It is the fourth largest city in France, there are more than 450 000 inhabitants. Toulouse is a centre of the European aerospace industry. The University of Toulouse belongs to the oldest of Europe. There is an airport, too. The Canal du Midi and the Basilica St Sernin are the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Toulouse is called the Pink City because of its architecture made of pinkish terracotta bricks.

Our school

Lycée Toulouse Lautrec is a secondary education school in Toulouse, it has got 1500 students and 130 teachers. It is located in the South West of France, 100kms from the Mediterranean and 100 kms from the Pyrenees Mountains. The school is also in the heart of industry related to aeronautics and space. Its students are from 15 to 19 years old and this school also has post-secondary education students. Most of the students come from villages around or from the city. The 12th grade students are part of different sections: literature or maths and science, or trade and management.

The school has English, Spanish or German as 1st or second languages. There is also a section of EuropeaSpanish which has 2 more hours of English and Spanish per week. These subjects cover mathematic areas for English and history/geography for Spanish. Every year the students have the opportunity to visit a foreign country. Students learning German organise a school exchange every year. Some students from the10th grade received awards (Prix Marie Curie) for their progress or for their very good results all year long.
